WATER QUALITY ADVISORY (Increased Turbidity)
March 12, 2021
This Advisory is in effect until further notice.
During the operational maintenance of the Cascade Valve, we experienced changes in flow direction, causing increased turbidity. The increased turbidity affected the whole lower zone including, the areas around Maple, Birch, Basset, Ferguson, Duncan Pl, Walnut, Peach Cres, and Cherry Cres.
To avoid any inconvenience, please check your water clarity prior to use. If you experience discoloration, run your cold taps until the water clears.
An advisory is issued in situations where the public health threat is modest, due to slightly higher than normal turbidity or a greater degree of substances in the water. Since some level of risk exists in this situation, a Water Quality Advisory (WQA) is issued for the public health of the most vulnerable populations such as newborns, infants, breastfeeding mothers, children, the elderly and people with chronic illnesses and immune deficiencies. Pets may also be vulnerable. The recommendation for these populations is to use water that has been boiled rapidly for no less than one minute and allowed to cool or to find an alternative safe source for brushing teeth, drinking, making baby formula, beverages, food and ice and washing fruits and vegetables.
THIS WATER QUALITY NOTICE IS EFFECTIVE UNTIL FURTHER INFORMATION
We will inform you when the Water Quality Advisory is removed.
